Um ...
The past few days have been a little strange. Actually
they´ve been very
familiar, but strangely so. When I wrote you last I was in
the lovely
little French town of Perpignan, on my way North, maybe to
Paris or on to
Germany. Today I write you from Montenegro, Spain, where I
have just spent
the night sleeping in a firetruck. Why was I sleeping in a
firetruck, you
ask? Because the treehouse was full.
While writing the previous paragraph I have decided not to
give any more
details. Okay, except the following:
1) Hitchhiking from the centre of a lovely little French
town can be
difficult. Better to take the train.
2) A Jeep Cherokee, though more comfortable for sleeping in
than a Nissan
Micra, still offers approximately the same meager comfort
level as a Dodge
Neon.
3) Brie and fig jam on pieces of a fresh, hot baguette.
I have fallen in love with another book and I am very
strenuously
recommending it to you. HHHHRRRRRR!!! The book is called
'Everything is
Illuminated' by Jonathan Saffran Foer. I have been laughing
and crying with
great pleasure and sadness, not always respectively, and not
always because
of the places I have been sleeping.
Hope you are all doing well and enjoying your ability to
find good Thai food
near your house,
jay
p.s., coming soon(?): Barcelona (again and again)? France
(again)? Italy?
Greece? Turkey?
